Douglas C. Smith is a Bartolomei Pucciarelli partner who joined the firm in 1994 after
two years in industry accounting with an
international company.
Areas of Practice:
Doug advises small businesses and high net worth individuals on taxation, financial and business
development issues in a wide variety of
industries including manufacturing, wholesale,
retail, services and not-for-profit. Doug
provides caring
service, piece of mind and convenience to his
clients in the form of tax saving strategies, timely management information
and advisory services. He also oversees the Litigation Support Services department of
Bartolomei Pucciarelli, performing business valuations and additional support
services in connection with marital dissolution disputes, mergers & acquisitions and
other shareholder issues. Doug provides guidance to business owners on building
better, more valuable companies.
Education:
A Massachusetts transplant, Doug graduated from Bentley College in 1992 with a BS in Accountancy. He became a CPA
in 1995 and achieved an additional certification for business appraisals in 1997 – Certified
Valuation Analyst.As a CVA, Doug is frequently appointed by the court
to provide litigation support, forensic accounting and appropriate information to
resolve marital and/or shareholder disputes.
Professional Organizations
and Community Work: Doug Smith is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of CPA’s (NJSCPA) and the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Doug serves as an officer and
trustee for several civic organizations including Princeton Corridor Rotary and
Career Development Awards and is a frequent volunteer for Cerebral Palsy of New
Jersey.
